Philosophy
The Westside High School Library Media Center is an integral part of the total curriculum and as such contributes to all of its goals and objectives. The library media center program links users with materials, services, resources and equipment in the most effective and efficient way possible and extends educational experiences. A well-organized collection of print and non-print materials and equipment is maintained for users to find, to evaluate and to use.

Fines and Overdue BooksA notice of overdue books will be placed in first period teachers' boxes.
A fine of $.05 per school day is charged for open-circulation overdue books. The maximum fine is $6.00 per book.
Before the end of each report card period, a list is made up by first period with the student's name, book, cost, and due date. These lists are sent to each first period teacher. Any student not cleared at the end of the school year is carried over to the next school year. Seniors with overdue books or library fines must clear all library records before graducation.
