Kory Roberts - Principal

Principal Kory Roberts was born in Anderson, SC to Linda Roberts, a retired Westside English teacher, and William Roberts, a retired Westside physical education teacher and coaching legend.  Mr. Roberts is a product of the Anderson School District Five Public School System.  He graduated from Westside High School in 1987.  After graduating from Westside, he began his undergraduate studies in elementary education at Benedict College in Columbia, SC.  Kory graduated from Benedict College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1991.  After teaching a few years in Columbia, he decided to return home.  Mr. Roberts began his Anderson Five teaching career at Centerville Elementary School.  He later went on to serve in administrative positions at Southwood, Nevitt Forest, Concord, and Centerville.  He received his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership and Education Specialist Degree in School Leadership from Furman University.
 
Kory is happily married to Mrs. Jackie Roberts, who is also a native of Anderson, SC.  Jackie is a guidance counselor at McLees Academy of Leadership and Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball coach at Westside.  They are proud parents of Kory Jr. and Jala.  Kory Jr. is currently a fifth grade teacher in Charleston, while Jala is currently a sixth grade teacher at Glenview Middle School in Anderson. Mr. Roberts has been honored to assume the role of principal in a school which he considers home and where his mother, Mrs. Linda Roberts, taught for many years and wrote the school alma mater as a high school senior, and where the gymnasium bears the name of his father, Mr. William Roberts.
